Please do not use gays as political pawns

This story about Mitt Romney antagonizing a gay kid in a schoolyard 50 years ago is not only a stereotype of gays as weak effeminate victims of bullies but is also way down on our list of priorities when you consider that there are no decent jobs and people losing their homes. When I walk around the Village in New York, I see many powerful , strong gays that could probably take a pro boxer. It is simply a myth that all gays are weak and subject to ridicule. I will  tell you what this is about.  First of all the language of this political story uses the word presumed to describe the alleged gay victim. Presumed is not a good word to use when you want to be sure about something. I think the Democratic Party, offering this kind of information is leading with the chin. I believe they are frightened of losing in November to Romney, the man they are nickle and dimming because they only have school yard 50 year old memories to work with.

Do as I say not as do

After today's stunning events where Obama made what amounted to a total reversal on gay rights after years of standing solid, as a Republican I would rightfully request that our opposition now refrain from beating the drums on Romney for changing positions. I personally will examine any such bills in New York and after reading such bill, cast my vote for or against such proposed  legislation.
I am in no way opposed to equal rights, as a Freelance Internet Writer my goal is to look at politics and candidates in a clinical respect. In this case the two candidates are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Who has a better chance of losing ground with this new set of particulars. In my view it would be Obama, not presented in a partisan lock. Judging sentiment on gay marriage is difficult. Most pundits feel the nation is split 50-50 on this subject. Remember that many states have rejected it and inherently, gay marriage over the years has been controversial. So, Obama builds the left but also alienates those that don't like politicians changing their minds for political reasons. Finally, the Democrats have lost forever what was an effective tool against Romney, changing positions.

Do you want a guy who is broke and in debt in the The White House?

Let me confess something to you, I have always wanted to make billions in my life. Never quite did that but I am still trying and proud of it. When I was a boy I went  on a deep sea fishing trip out of Captree , Long  Island on a party boat with my Dad. I took that hook and put a pound of squid on it. The first mate ran over and said, hey kid why are you using all that bait , we are going for fluke. My dad said, my boy doesn't want to catch a fluke, he wants to catch a whale.

I support Mitt Romney, because he had the business talent to make a lot of money and be successful. So he is not a Jan Murray, so what, he will be elected in 2012 to restore our economy and bring world order, all of  which we have lost. Speaking of Obama, he is no piker for those of you who play that 1% game which is also known as class warfare. I read yesterday that Obama is worth 7.1 million so no lunch with him at the coffee shop for you. Mitt Romney will do no stand up at the improv, is very wealthy but you know we are going to go along with him to a better lifestyle because he is the type of businessman that can accomplish  just that.

Jay Adler-Freelance Writing-Where is the GOP Going?

As a life long Republican the Path to the White House for me seemed more assured two months ago then it does today. It is not so much that I doubt that the GOP will emerge victorious in 2012 against the faulty record of the Obama Administration, it is specifically my fear that by all means we should never enable a third party candidate but perhaps it may be prudent to bring out a savior candidate, one that can beat Obama. Mitt Romney seems to be recently fading in ways that might not be related exclusively to opinion polls. He lost his temper with a Fox interviewer ostensibly because he is growing weary of the Romney care questions. When I see him now, he appears to be quiet and reserved and though Iowa caucus is an unknown conclusion in many ways, you have to wonder why he is dropping in the polls. Newt Gingrich I don't think can beat what we think is a debate losing, failed President. Look, Obama is a Harvard lawyer, I do not think he necessarily is a pushover at any debate. Newt's problem in beating Obama is that he appears to be an older gent connected with past administrations. His extemporaneousness in offering quick solutions in front of the Press is risky. The key with Obama is that like any Republican,I don't think he has done well. Obama's, supporters have arguments that say he has done well or on his way. They still like him. Get Rubio, Connie Mack, someone youthful, smart and aggressive. The more the current slate continues we may be in for the shock of 4 more years.

The Apple Does Not Fall Far From The Tree

It never ceases to amaze me how are most gifted actors and musical prodigies are the offspring of parents that sometimes were a little better at performing and sometimes not. I am going to give you a list I crafted and you will see what I mean.

Liza Minnelli  Judy Garland

Norah Jones  Ravi Shankar

Bob Dylan  Joshua Dylan (The incomparable Wallflowers band}

Nat King Cole  Natalie Cole

Woody Guthrie  Arlo Guthrie

Johnny Cash  Rosanne Cash

Ben Stiller  Stiller and Meara

Donald Sutherland  Kiefer Sutherland

There are a few more but what I find interesting is that when I quantify genetically furthered talent, the kids tend to be enormously talented and a cut above the regular auditioning set. Sometimes the parent was farther down the road talent wise but remember the kids are making much fatter pay checks in the Electronic age. Jo Stafford might be the most adept female vocalist we have ever seen beginning in WW ll. she was one of a handful of singers that had perfect pitch. Jo who the soldiers dubbed GIJO started as a signed singer with a new CBS record company in the war era when there were no ipods and sharing and computers or TV. She sold 25 million records then. "You Belong To me" and the "The Folks Who Live On The Hill" exemplify her vocals unimaginably. Both are on my Ipod because I have one, she did it the hard way.
