Winning this kind of judgement is not only costly but very difficult if not impossible when you are a celebrity or politician. Firstly, you make a lot of money based on an implied agreement with your standing in the public that people can to some degree dump on you in exchange for your celebrity. Sleazy and unwarranted editing of of these attacks will result in the public, not stupid,  dismissing the entire matter and actually siding with the impugned celebrity or politician. When the media engages in altering, for instance, a tape, there will probably be no legal repercussions at that time constraint but damages can be dealt with later. The point is that the ability to damage the celebrity is totally incredible by virtue of what transpired.
